2010 Beef Industry Safety Summit

You are invited to the 2010 Beef Industry Safety Summit which brings together safety professionals

Issues to be discussed include:

  • Traceability
  • Use of Bench Trim in Retail Facilities
  • Subprimal Interventions
  • Process Validation

Forums will be held to discuss:

  • The state of knowledge on antibiotic use in the beef industry
  • Converge of safety issues with sustainability, animal welfare, human nutrition and the environment
working in all sectors of the beef production, processing and marketing chain. This year’s Summit is being held March 3-5 at the Omni Hotel at Las Colinas, TX, a Dallas suburb of Irving, TX. 

 

This is an active, working meeting where attendees can participate in small group discussions addressing pertinent beef safety topics. During this year’s summit, attendees will:

  • Discuss current safety issues with representatives from all sectors of the beef industry.
    • Issues to be addressed include: Traceability, Use of Bench Trim in Retail Facilities, Subprimal Interventions, Process Validation.
    • Forums will be held to discuss the state of knowledge on antibiotic use in the beef industry, in addition to the convergence of safety issues with sustainability, animal welfare, human nutrition and the environment.
  • Build their knowledge base on beef chain pathogens during research results presentations.
  • Network with colleagues, representatives from all sectors of the beef industry, government agency representatives and the research community.
  • Determine future courses of action to help each sector reduce foodborne pathogen incidence and enhance the safety of U.S. beef products.

Participants in last year’s Summit remarked that the “Summit was fantastic and interactive…very useful and pertinent information.”
