Jim Henger, Executive Director, Marketing
When he joined the National Cattlemen's Beef Association in 2005, Jim continued a life-long career in the meat industry. Jim started in a family-owned supermarket located in Ohio, where he became skilled in the cutting, merchandising and marketing of beef. The store’s meat department earned national honors from IGA for excellence in merchandising.
Jim went on to work for Super Foods Services, Inc. as a meat specialist and developed several programs designed to monitor the profitability of meat departments and build sales through promotions and ad campaigns.
Jim also spent over twenty years working for beef packers including IBP (now Tyson) and Swift, where he worked with the nation's largest retailers in implementing marketing programs, developing new products and leading workshops designed to train retailers in merchandising and marketing.
In his present position, Jim oversees all functions of NCBA’s Retail Marketing program. His vast experience in all facets of the meat industry, from processing to wholesale to retail, gives him a unique understanding of the beef industry.
